Modern Pop Piano EKX is an EZkeys 2 expansion that combines a carefully sampled vintage upright piano with layered synthesizers, resampled sounds, granular effects, time-stretching, and analog/digital processing. The result is a versatile instrument that ranges from natural acoustic piano tones to heavily processed, atmospheric and experimental sounds.

- Vintage upright piano foundation — Based on a mid-1950s Grotrian-Steinweg Model 120 upright piano.
- 80 crafted presets divided into:
- Natural — organic piano sounds with different microphone and ambience combinations.
- Processed — layered tones with saturated effects, reverbs and other processing.
- Experimental — heavily warped piano/synth textures for more adventurous productions.
- Hybrid sound design — Piano recordings are combined with synths, granular processing, time-stretching and resampling.
- Analog & digital processing — Includes processing inspired by compressors, EQs, saturators, tape emulation and other studio hardware.
- Synth layers — Textures created using instruments including UDO Super Gemini, Sequential Prophet and Roland Juno hardware.
- Multiple microphone perspectives — Recorded using several stereo microphone configurations plus a mono vintage horn microphone.
- Included MIDI library — Comes with a basic collection of MIDI specifically tailored to the instrument.
- Broad production applications — Suitable for modern pop, EDM, electronic music, ambient production, singer-songwriter arrangements and experimental sound design.
Sound Character
The library moves from warm, organic and intimate piano tones to wide, atmospheric, saturated and unconventional textures. This makes it useful not only as a traditional piano but also as a creative sound-design instrument for building distinctive keyboard parts and layers.
