Nevermore Magnetics Anvil v1.5 Nebula LibraryAnvil re-creates the elusive and legendary ‘sound’ (which you’ll agree with me is quite a stretch) of a famous AD unit with its ‘golden’ looks.

Capturing this was not easy in Nebula, and it was split in three programs.

Analog Saturation recreates the behavior of the unit when the feature is switched on, in the real hardware. It creates a soft clipping behavior in the signal that inherently introduces some added harmonic content. The result is a subtler, richer, more ‘analog’ (in fact) tone, within the context of a very clean and transparent converter.

Digital Bloom is another feature that the hardware has. I called it ‘bloom’ because that is what it feels like, to me. It makes the signal bloom a little, just enough to feel more enticing and exciting to listen to, it makes it more real, more musical.

Converter Dynamics emulates two important time-based factors: the dynamic curve of the soft clipping (when activated through its ‘Analog Saturation’ switch, on the hardware) and the hard clipping of the converter when reaching full-scale resolution. Clipping this converter has been a ‘secret’ for many years, in my records, because it does not sound as bad as one could think, but it actually adds a special edge and heft to the sound that is very hard to achieve on other devices.

Our libraries require Nebula3, N4, or N4.5. They do not work with N4 Player or with non-commercial versions of the software.
