Toontrack Dry EZX v1.0.0 (SOUNDBANK)

Dry drums don’t hide behind ambience – they breathe and speak with raw, unfiltered intimacy, like they’re right at the edge of your ear. If you’re looking for muffled, punchy and absolutely dead – yet unmistakably alive – drum sounds, this EZX for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3 delivers exactly that.

Featuring four carefully curated kits, the Dry EZX spans a wide sonic range – from earthy and warm to snappy and slightly pingy. Recorded in a small, low-ceilinged room with thick drapes lining the walls, ambience was stripped down to an absolute minimum. The result is a collection of viscerally tight kits that sound as if you’re right there in the room – inches from the drums.

One standout feature is that for selected kits, two drummers were seated opposite each other, striking their own kick, snare, toms and hi-hats simultaneously across every velocity layer. The natural flams and organic imperfections this resulted in add a rich, layered sound – perfect for punching up your grooves with subtle but extra variation.

In addition to the drums, a collection of mix-ready presets for each kit as well as a library of basic, backbeat-centric grooves are provided, allowing you to hit the ground running on the way to your next song.

If you’re looking for an EZX that is just as ideal for subtle singer-songwriter and indie as it is for edgy beats and modern pop, this is it. Gear up for some close, focused and absolutely dry drum magic.
