THE INSTRUMENT.
The ultimate session staple.
In the 1970s, Yamaha set out to create a bass that could break into the US market. To do so, they turned to some of the most prominent session players of the era, gathering feedback on prototypes and refining the design around the demands of real-world studio and stage work. The result was the BB series – a versatile workhorse engineered to excel in virtually any musical situation.
By the mid-1980s, the BB series had become one of Yamaha’s most successful and respected bass platforms, with the BB3000 establishing itself as a go-to choice among session players around the world. Though long discontinued, it remains one of the most revered instruments in the BB lineage, celebrated for its tone, versatility and exceptional playability.
