To do so, they turned to some of the most prominent session players of the era, gathering feedback on prototypes and refining the design around the demands of real-world studio and stage work. The result was the BB series – a versatile workhorse engineered to excel in virtually any musical situation.

By the mid-1980s, the BB series had become one of Yamaha’s most successful and respected bass platforms, with the BB3000 establishing itself as a go-to choice among session players around the world. Though long discontinued, it remains one of the most revered instruments in the BB lineage, celebrated for its tone, versatility and exceptional playability.
